Dominic S. Carreira, M.D., a board certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced training from three orthopedic fellowship programs, specializes in hip arthroscopy, sports medicine, and foot and ankle.

Dr. Carreira serves as a Clinical Instructor for the Atlanta Medical Center Orthopedic Residency Program. He is an educator both nationally and internationally in hip preservation.

Dr. Carreira has served as an Assistant Team Physician to both the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Ski Teams, Nova Southeastern University, Georgia State University, Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blaze, Miami Marlins, and Miami Dolphins. He currently serves as a consultant for the Atlanta United of Major League Soccer and the Atlanta Ballet.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy.

Active in medical research, Dr. Carreira has presented his work on minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques and outcomes both nationally and internationally. He has been published in numerous peer reviewed medical publications including in the Journal of Arthroscopy and the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
