Dr. Hassan is an academic sports medicine and hip preservation surgeon at the University of Minnesota and TRIA Orthopaedic Center.

He is an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

He has dedicated  training in sports medicine, hip arthroscopy and hip preservation surgery from the prestigious Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School. This is the oldest program of its kind in the United States. He is one of a small number of surgeons in the country with training in both sports medicine/hip arthroscopy and periacetabular osteotomy.

He is an active member of AOSSM, ISHA, AANA and AAOS. He has published numerous articles and book chapters. He has presented in regional, national and international conferences.

He serves at a team physician of University of Minnesota athletics and Minneapolis/St Paul High Schools.
